2023 SPRING

2023 SUMMER

2023 FALL

1 Week Mite and Squirt Camp

This camp will be a five day overview on a number of different skating skills.  Each day we will progressively teach about three different skating skills.  The skills will be taught in a big group but then the skaters will split into smaller groups to work on the skills.  The skills that will be covered are:

  • Balance/Edges
  • Power Turns
  • Forward Crossovers
  • Backward Crossovers
  • Quick Starts
  • Forward Stride
  • Backward Skating
  • Transitions and Mohawk Turns.
  • Each skater will be evaluated with a test on Thursday and then will receive their evaluation sheet on Friday.  This is a great camp to give every skater an overall idea and understanding of all of the basic skating skills.

Small Group Camps

Each small group ratio will be about one instructor per six skaters.  Every skater will be filmed throughout the camp as well as constant instructor feedback.  The only way this works is by working in small groups.  Because of this, there is really no down time and we use every minute of the camp for a specific purpose.  Skaters should come ready to learn, focus, and work as this camp takes a lot of attention to detail.

These camps will focus a lot of time and energy into the technique of all of the skating skills.  The basic skills that will be taught are

  • Balance/Edges
  • Power Turns
  • Forward Crossovers
  • Backward Crossovers
  • Quick Starts
  • Forward Stride
  • Backward Skating
  • Transitions and Mohawk Turns.

The older and more advanced groups will get into even more difficult skating skills such as agility, slide-stop turn, and footwork.  Towards the end of the camp the skills will also be executed with a puck.

Fall Camps

These camps are designed to get the skater ready for tryouts as well as the season.  These camps are done at a very high pace with a lot of over-speed involved.  The skills are still the same throughout all of the camps but the tempo is at a higher pace due to the time of year for this camp.

Skills that will be taught:

  • Balance/Edges
  • Power Turns
  • Forward Crossovers
  • Backward Crossovers
  • Quick Starts
  • Forward Stride
  • Backward Skating
  • Transitions and Mohawk Turns.

The older and more advanced groups will get into even more difficult skating skills such as agility, slide-stop turn, and footwork.  Towards the end of the camp the skills will also be executed with a puck.

Bjugstad and Ness Best of Both Worlds skating and shooting Camp
This camp will focus on learning techniques, getting feedback per coaches and video, and executing skills within effective drills.  This is a camp that tends to fill very quickly for the value added each session.  Skating skills that will be taught are
  • Balance/Edges
  • Power Turns
  • Forward Crossovers
  • Backward Crossovers
  • Quick Starts
  • Forward Stride
  • Backward Skating
  • Transitions and Mohawk Turns.

The older and more advanced groups will get into even more difficult skating skills such as agility, slide-stop turn, and footwork.  Towards the end of the camp the skills will also be executed with a puck.
