Andy has over 20 years of experience in growing and developing hockey players at all levels of the game, beginning his career under the leadership of his mom, renowned skating coach, Diane Ness. For the last decade Andy has been the Minnesota Wild’s skating and skills coach. In this role he focuses on off-season development of current Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild players and assists in rehabilitation skating for injured players throughout the season.
Prior to his work with the Minnesota Wild Andy served as a consultant for numerous teams and players throughout his career. He served as an Assistant Skating Coach with the New Jersey Devils from 2008-2012, helping the team reach the 2012 Stanley Cup Final. He also worked as Assistant Skating Coach for the University of Minnesota Men’s and Women’s hockey programs from 2009-2011 and with the USA Women’s Olympic Hockey Team in 2010.
Andy values the expertise and knowledge that each individual he meets brings to the game of hockey. Over the past 20 years he has continued to seek out opportunities to develop himself- from experienced youth coaches and speed skating instructors to NHL coaches, trainers, and doctors- Andy has collaborated and worked with them all. It is this vast knowledge, experience, and expertise that he brings to each and every one of his camps.
